Craig Brass - Managing Director and Chief Software Architect
After leaving further education, Craig began working full time at Its Elixir (following a period of part time work whilst still studying), at the same time planning a new eCommerce / Shopping Cart solution, an idea borne out of frustration with the current cart solutions on the market and all the issues he found when setting up the Its Elixir site. After completing a Feature Specification for this new software and writing a Business Plan for the Company, he approached a few investors and quickly gained the finance needed for the Company to develop.

As both the Managing Director and Chief Software Architect, he today manages the Company on a day to day basis as well as continuing to plan future versions of the software products we offer as well as new products for the future.

Sheila Birkett - Company Secretary
Sheila has successfully managed to raise a family of 3 children along with running a successful business with Les, her husband, for the last 25+ years. She also manages a successful portfolio of properties in the local area and overseas along with her duties as Company Secretary, she is greatly aided by Jane with the general day to day running of office procedures.

Leslie Birkett - Non-Executive Director
Together with his wife Sheila, Les has run a successful cleaning equipment business in Cumbria for 25+ years, this keeps him gainfully occupied as he is still involved in every aspect of the business on a day to day basis. As Non-Executive Director, Les is not currently involved in the day-to-day running of Craig Brass Systems, but works closely with the rest of the team to monitor the executive activity and contributes to the development of the Company strategy.

In his limited spare time, he enjoys Golf and watching Football / Motorsport.

Jane Denton - Operations Manager
Originally from Yorkshire, Jane moved to Cumbria 15 years ago and has primarily worked in an Office Manager / Accounts background for the last 20 years. Jane holds the AAT level 1 accounting qualification, and hopes to embark on level 2 later this year. She also has extensive knowledge of Sage Accounts and Payroll software.

Andrew Gillard BSc (Hons) - Lead Developer
Fresh out of University, Andrew leads development here at Craig Brass Systems overall as well as being lead developer on our Viper Cart project. He joined our team during his work experience year between the 2nd and 3rd years of University studies and wrote much of the initial core code behind Viper Cart. He also overseen all further developers joining the Company and introduced them to the various projects.

He has an advanced understanding of the PHP programming language, MySQL database management system and JavaScript scripting language. More recently he has gained experience working in the Java and Visual Basic .NET programming languages. The majority of Andrew's experience in these areas is self-taught and dates back more than 7 years.

During the summer of 2005 between leaving 6th Form and going to University, he set up Web2Messenger - a highly successful service allowing people to send messages from the web to somebody's Windows Live Messenger without revealing their Windows Live ID. The service backend was initially written in PHP but was later recoded in C++ to improve resource usage.

In 2010, while working for us, Andrew sat and successfully passed his Zend Certified Engineer exam.

Babu Velayudhan BE (Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering) - Developer
Babu joined us in mid-2008 and has worked on the Viper Cart project since joining. Since leaving University and gaining his Bachelors Degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Babu has worked as an engineer for a major UPS company. Over 3 years ago however he changed his career path and became a PHP freelancer which he has been doing until he joined us giving him a wealth of experience in the industry.

He has an advanced understanding of the PHP programming language, MySQL database management system and JavaScript scripting language. While at University, he also gained experiance working in the C programming language. The majority of Babu's experience in these areas is self-taught and dates back more than 4 years. In 2007, Babu sat and successfully passed his Zend Certified Engineer exam.

Babu enjoys going to the cinema and reading in his spare time.

Harish Mohan MComm (Master of Commerce), PGDCA (Post Graduate Diploma In Computer Applications) - Developer
Harish joined us in near the end of 2008 and has worked on the Viper Cart project since joining. Since leaving University and gaining his Masters Degree in Commerce and Post Graduate Diploma In Computer Applications, Harish has worked as a teacher at the Professional Institute of Computer Studies which he left to become a freelancer before joining Craig Brass Systems.

He has an advanced understanding of the PHP programming language, MySQL database management system and JavaScript scripting language. More recently he has gained experience working in the C, C++, Foxpro, Java and Visual Basic programming languages as well as the MSSQL and Oracle database management systems. The majority of Harish's experience in these areas is self-taught and dates back more than 7 years.

Harish enjoys playing cricket, reading blogs, reading financial articles and playing computer games in his spare time.

Uma Goel DCE (Computer Engineering) - Developer
Uma joined us in late 2008 after doing freelance programming via an outsourcing company for the previous 3 years giving him a wealth of experience in the industry.

He has an advanced understanding of the PHP programming language, MySQL database management system and the JavaScript scripting language . He also has some experiance in the C programming language, C++ programming language, Java programming language, Vistal Basic programming language, Oracle database management system and MSSQL database management system.The majority of Uma' experience in these areas is self-taught and dates back more than 6 years. In 2007, Uma sat and successfully passed his Zend Certified Engineer exam.
